In 2013, David took up the position of Principal Double Bass with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in Cardiff. David is in high demand as a Guest Principal Double Bass with many of Europe’s leading ensembles, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, and Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

In 2017, David joined the Academy of St Martin in the Fields as Associate Principal Bass. 

David is now an Associate at the Royal Academy of Music and teaches the Double Bass at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
